The Rossi Street
Rossi Street is one of my favourite parts of St. Petersburg. It stretches between Lomonosov Square and the Aleksandrinski Theatre. The buildings along the street are perfectly proportioned in every way, evenly spaces and exactly the same height. It is also called the Theatre Street and is home to the Museum of Theater and Music Arts.

St. Petersburg and the Peter and Paul Fortress
This is a building of tremendous historical importance, because it was one of the very first buildings to be built here. It was built at the request of Peter the Great 300 years ago in order to protect the city against possible attrack and was also used as a prison. The cathedral contains the tombs of a number of important Russian Emperors.

The Fontanka
The Fontanka River is part of the River Neva and runs the St. Petersburg. This is a busy waterway and stretches for around four miles. There are lots of nice building either side on the river banks, and some excellent views from the Anchikov Bridge. The Lomonosov Bridge also crosses the Fontanka channel and is from the same period, the 18th century. It has some interesting features and four towers topped with ornate cupolas. I found it very good for arty photographs - nice reflections in the still water.
